To My Jane Sister,

Jane, you sent me this photograph — on the back you wrote, “More to follow.”

And indeed, more followed — more letters, more laughter, more wisdom, and above all, more love for humanity and our planet. Jane you were so much more than a dear friend; you were my sister. Your courage, humility, and compassion touched every life you encountered and left an indelible mark on all who knew you. Though you are no longer with us in person, you live on through the actions of the millions who loved you and now carry your mission forward. When confronted by any situation, I often pause and ask myself: What would Jane do? And what would she want me to do?

That question continues to guide me — and reminds me that your light will never fade. Your spirit is alive — in every act of kindness, in every hand that heals, and in every heart that still believes, as you did, in the power of good.

— Jane Goodall
“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you.”

I’M NOT HERE

Don’t Stand by my grave and weep
For I’m not there. I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamonds glint on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn’s rain

When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circle flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there; I did not die.
